For a great day with a gorgeous woman consider heading out to Hannibal. A town called Hannibal is probably not the most romantic outing for a date but it is quaint and loaded with history.
Famous for being home to Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain, Hannibal is located right on the Mississippi River and features a museum, a lighthouse and several historic buildings.
There is even a statue of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn on top of a hill with spectacular views of the river. Stop by the main street for a charming lunch with your girl!
The St. Louis Science Center's James S. McDonnell Planetarium is one of the most well-respected space education facilities in America. It features a space station, two levels of exhibits and a lab area. Visitors can experience what it is like to live, work and sleep on the International Space Station.
Top off your visit to the planetarium with a romantic viewing of the stars under the dome. The night sky update is dark, quiet and surreal. You'll feel like you are floating through the midnight sky!
Pick up your lady and drive out to Kansas City for a daytime excursion to the local museums. At 18th Street and Vine a pair of museums exist that are loaded with rich African-American history. One museum is dedicated to jazz. Tour the museum while listening to the romantic music playing that highlights some of the world's best musicians.
Across the street you will find the Negro Leagues Baseball museum, which features the teams, players and struggles the group went through just to play baseball.
